Purdue University, in partnership with edX, is offering an online AP Computer Science A course for the 2016-17 academic year. This course can be taken by students, or interested educators, at no cost. The class will feature instruction from Purdue faculty and staff, and will cover all topics addressed in the AP CS A course curriculum.
Interested parties should sign up before the September 6th course start date. The material has been divided among four modules that are delivered over six-week periods during the Fall and Spring semesters. A verified certificate can be purchased during the first three weeks of the module, but does not impact the content of the course in any way. Students will still need to sign up for the AP CS A exam in May in order to have an opportunity to receive any college credit for the course.
