Purdue University, in partnership with edX, is offering an online AP Computer Science A course for the 2016-17 academic year. This course can be taken by students, or interested educators, at no cost. The class will feature instruction from Purdue faculty and staff, and will cover all topics addressed in the AP CS A course curriculum.
Purdue University, in cooperation with the Indiana Hoosier Heartland CSTA, hosted thirteen teachers on campus for a three-day computer science teaching workshop from July 25th to July 27th, 2016. During the workshop, the teachers worked together to develop collaborative lesson plans, address the Big Ideas of the new Computer Science Principles course, and build the CSTA Community of Practice.
Microsoft has released a new computer science curriculum designed for teens who may not have expressed much interest in computer programming – and teachers who don’t necessarily have any background in the field, either.
