CS 180 HS logo - Module 1Purdue University, in partnership with edX, is offering an online AP Computer Science A course for the 2016-17 academic year. This course can be taken by students, or interested educators, at no cost. The class will feature instruction from Purdue faculty and staff, and will cover all topics addressed in the AP CS A course curriculum.

Purdue Summer Teacher Workshop

Purdue UniversityFrom July 25th to July 27th, 2016, Purdue University’s Department of Computer Science will be hosting teachers for a three day workshop focused on the seven big ideas of the new AP Computer Science Principles course, and on building a community of practice for Indiana CSTA members. Each day will feature a mix of workshop sessions and open time for collaborative lesson planning and activity development.

ACM High School Coding Competition, April 16

The ACM High School Coding Competition will be held on Purdue University’s campus, Saturday April 16, 2016. The event is an annual programming competition hosted by Purdue’s ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) Chapter. High School Students from around the Midwest will come to Purdue to compete. Teams of two students attempt to solve 10 programming questions in the shortest possible time. The questions cover a variety of topics and difficulty levels. The best teams take home prizes, and all students will receive something for attending.
